The Next Chapter for Aegis.
Brian, it has been years since I built the Aegis website while working at The Register-Guard in Oregon. I remember the company and the opportunity we nearly had to keep working together when I left the newspaper. Seeing where Aegis is today inspired me to explore a new visual direction—one that respects the name and reputation you have built while giving the business a sharper identity and a more effective digital presentation. I would love the opportunity to work with you again and create something even better.
The Business Has Kept Moving. The Presentation Can Catch Up.
Aegis's current site still emphasizes the Eugene–Springfield market, protective pavement maintenance and the familiar 'The Power to Protect' message. The business has deeper history than a basic contractor website suggests: Brian's career in asphalt began with his grandfather in the Willamette Valley, and Aegis was established in 2009. Recent public company updates also show ongoing paving and striping work. This is an opportunity to showcase a continuing business story, not to replace it.
A Foundation Built Over Time
Brian founded Aegis in 2009 after years of hands-on asphalt work and construction management. That history deserves an identity that feels durable, capable and established.
Commercial Properties at the Center
The site promotes parking-lot paving and repairs, sealcoating, striping, concrete curbing and exterior site specialties for apartments, HOAs, offices, schools, retail and other properties.
Evidence of Recent Work
Public Aegis LinkedIn posts in 2026 feature an apartment overlay, thermoplastic intersection striping and a county sealing-and-striping project. These are useful proof points and possible project-story opportunities, subject to permission for photography and claims.
A Familiar Website, A New Opportunity
The recognizable logo and the site I originally built at The Register-Guard have served for years. The next step could be a more intentional logo system, stronger project imagery, clearer service paths and a modern website without losing the equity of the Aegis name.
Make Protection Visible Before the First Estimate.
For a property manager or business owner, pavement is a practical investment: it affects access, safety, tenant and visitor experience, and the appearance of the site. Aegis already speaks to these concerns. A coordinated brand and more focused website could make those strengths easier to see at first glance, while directing prospective customers toward the right service and a simple estimate request.
An A That Stands for More Than Asphalt.
This proposed shield-influenced A mark uses a bold letterform crossed by a curving roadway. It connects the Aegis name to protective work and forward movement without turning the logo into a literal construction illustration. Charcoal grounds the system in asphalt; yellow carries forward the familiar original palette and evokes visibility and pavement markings. The Aegis wordmark stays prominent, while the existing 'The Power to Protect' tagline is retained. This is an optional modernization concept to evaluate together—not a claim that the recognizable current identity has no value.

A Familiar Name with a More Confident Signature.
The supplied Shielded A concept establishes the visual direction: a protection-inspired monogram, asphalt-charcoal and yellow palette, strong type, and useful applications. These selected boards show the proposed identity as presented, with no new redraws or substitute assets.

Signage Identity Applications

Color Palette
From the Estimate to the Finished Lot.
These eight supplied presentation boards show a possible cohesive visual system for Aegis, with emphasis on commercial parking lots, sealcoating, striping, repairs and curbing. Vehicle, signage, apparel and project treatments are illustrative creative concepts, not representations of Aegis’s confirmed current equipment, personnel or installations. Sample contact details on the images are placeholders and would be replaced before production.

More Recognition. More Clarity. More Confidence.
Continuity
Retaining the name, yellow-and-black heritage and “The Power to Protect” message respects recognition already earned while improving the overall system.
Better Service Fit
Images of maintained parking lots, striping, repairs and curbing show customers the work Aegis actually advertises instead of overemphasizing interstate construction.
Stronger First Impressions
Consistent identity and well-organized proposal materials can support credibility during conversations with property managers, HOAs and commercial decision-makers.
One Practical System
Coordinated layouts can be reused across actual work vehicles, crew clothing, signs, marketing and digital content, with production adapted to each application.
Real Project Proof
Recent overlays and striping work could become before-and-after case studies that make expertise tangible rather than relying only on general promises.
Build Around the Work Already Being Done.
There is no need to disrupt an operating business or discard useful history. If the concept resonates, a thoughtful rollout could begin with refining the identity and confirming Aegis's current priorities, then extend into the most valuable customer-facing materials and website touchpoints.
Confirm the Direction
Review the proposed A with Brian, preserve meaningful legacy elements, and finalize appropriate marks, palette, typography and usage rules.
Prepare Priority Brand Assets
Develop production-ready artwork for the real vehicles, apparel, signage, business cards and estimate/proposal materials that Aegis chooses to update. Manufacturing, printing and wrap installation would be handled separately.
Refresh the Digital Experience
Design and develop a responsive site that highlights real paving and maintenance services, customer groups, project evidence and easy estimate inquiries; retain useful current content and protect search continuity.
Launch in Manageable Stages
Coordinate website publication, essential digital assets and a practical physical-brand transition as schedules and replacement cycles allow.
A Brand and Website Worth the Next Chapter.
My recommendation is to explore a defined brand-identity engagement for Aegis, paired with a separately agreed website redesign if that is useful to the business today. This proposal is a creative demonstration, not a finished scope or unrequested commitment. We can determine the exact deliverables and fixed project price together after reviewing the current priorities, available project photography and any existing marketing arrangements. Vehicle, signage and apparel concepts would be delivered as artwork/design files; printing, fabrication, wrapping and installation are not included unless specifically agreed.
- Brand discovery and positioning discussion
- Final primary logo and shielded-A signature mark (subject to approval)
- Horizontal, stacked, monochrome and reversed logo variants
- Color palette, typography and concise usage guidelines
- Selected vehicle, workwear and signage artwork adapted to real assets
- Business card and estimate/proposal collateral design
- Digital/social visual templates
- Website design and development as a separately scoped option
- Production-ready files for approved designs; physical production not included
Brian, I’d Love to Build Something Great Together Again.
It was a privilege to work on Aegis’s website back at The Register-Guard. After all these years, I would genuinely enjoy reconnecting, hearing where you want to take the business next and showing you how this visual direction might support it. Whether the timing is right now or later, I wanted to put some care into an idea created specifically for Aegis.
